AVIATION SUMMER CAMP
AeroCamp is a program designed to give young people a unique opportunity to explore the world of aviation and aerospace. As a member of the Flight School Association of North America, California Aeronautical University is proud to host AeroCamp for the youth in our community.
Campers have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the dynamics of airplanes and flight, along with the broad spectrum of careers in the aviation industry. There is a strong education component that all campers receive. Campers have a discovery flight option.
AeroCamp will be a 5-day “day camp.” Costs, listed below, also include meals, a California Aeronautical University t-shirt and all materials and instruction.

TOPICS DURING THE FIVE DAY CAMP ARE BELOW
Please keep in mind that this STEM based curriculum will include hands on activities and field trips that will encompass the following:
- Loggable aircraft flight time in a Cessna 172, G1000 equipped aircraft
- 2 hours of actual loggable simulator flight time in a redbird flight simulator
- Hands on aircraft preflight inspection and preparation
- Model aircraft project and competition
- Flight plan preparation
- Ground instruction – Aviation Weather
- Ground Instruction – Elements of flight
- G1000 Flight instrumentation
- Scavenger Hunt using aeronautical charts
- Bakersfield (KBFL) ATC Tower tour
We will also throw in a little fun with Outdoor Pool Party and Poolside Barbeque!
