Steps to Admission
Meet With Admissions Department
The first step involves meeting one-on-one with an admissions associate. If you live near the campus, this session will be at the campus where you can take a tour of the campus. If you’re initially unable to visit the campus, you’ll meet with an admissions associate through a web meeting when you can take a virtual tour of the campus. Whether in-person or over the phone, this meeting will include program details and all of your initial questions will be answered. Schedule your tour today.
Meet With Financial Services Department
During the next step to admission, you will meet with a member of the financial services department to learn how to pay for your education. This may include receiving an estimate cost of attendance, completing a FAFSA, determining the aid you may qualify for, and applying for external scholarships. Similar to the meeting with admissions, this step may be completed either on-campus or through a web meeting.
Start The Application Process
After meeting with both admissions and financial services, you’re ready to begin the application for admission. There is a non-refundable application fee of $100 that must be paid before submitting the application.
Assessment And Documentation
Once the admissions team receives your completed application for admission, all students will need to take an assessment and provide the following documentation:
- Official high school transcript with proof of graduation (or GED)
- Official college transcript, if applicable
- Driver’s license / ID card
- Social security card
Additionally, students in the professional pilot programs must also submit:
- Birth certificate
- FAA Class 3 Medical Certificate
To further enhance your application for admission, you may also submit:
- Admissions essay to help us assess your qualifications. Essays should be between 500 and 750 words, and may address one of the following topics:
- Why have you selected the degree in which you are applying?
- Other than graduation from CAU, what goals do you have for completing your degree program?
- What do you want to accomplish after college?
- Resume to provide additional accomplishments and achievements.
- Letter of recommendation from your community leaders, teachers or employers that can address areas of your background that are not always apparent in your academic record.
Acceptance Review Meeting
After successfully receiving the application, assessment and documentation, you’ll meet with the admissions manager during an acceptance review meeting. Completed in-person or through a web meeting, the admissions manager will determine your acceptance to the University. CAU is looking for individuals who possess good moral character and the personal qualities commensurate with the aviation professionals who would assist them in becoming gainfully employed.
Complete Admission And Financial Aid Enrollment Paperwork
Once you have been accepted to California Aeronautical University, you will then meet with your admissions associate to complete all of the necessary admissions forms and meet with the financial services team to complete the enrollment paperwork.
