LOCATION
AIM High Flight Academy (AHFA) will take place at California Aeronautical University’s main campus in Bakersfield, Ca (KBFL). Flight training, the residence hall, and dining facility are all located on the CAU campus.

SCHEDULE
Our goal is to help you achieve the mission of achieving 12-15 flight hours while you attend the Flight Academy. Below is a typical day schedule for an AHFA cadet as you build flight training hours towards your mission.

DOCUMENT REQUIREMENTS
Prior to Arriving
The following documents are required for each cadet before move-in day. The Air Force will be collecting the documents and then sending digital copies to CAU. Please refer to the Air Force with documentation questions.

- Class III Medical Certificate
- Medical Insurance Card
- Student Pilot Certificate Login Account info
Bring to CAU
Please bring proof of citizenship and identification with you when you arrive to CAU (more info included on page 7 of the Move-In Guide).

WELCOME WEBINAR
The CAU-AHFA Welcome Webinar will cover information about what to expect during your training at CAU. This webinar is intended to be a general overview of what will be briefed in detailed documents you will receive from the CAU Student Life Department.
CLOSING CEREMONY
AHFA participants will be celebrated during a closing ceremony at the end of their respective session. The ceremonies will each be livestreamed on the dates and times indicated below.
Session One – June 14, 2025
Session Two – July 8, 2025 at 6 pm PST
Session Three – July 30, 2025 at 6 pm PST
FAQ
All students are required to wear a uniform any time they are participating in educational activities. Each cadet will be issued uniform t-shirts to be worn throughout the program. In addition to the issued t-shirts, each student is required to supply and wear solid black or navy blue shorts and closed-toed shoes (sneakers). Each student will be issued an AHFA flight suit with patches
(if one has not already been issued prior) to be worn as required.
More details can be found in the Flight SOP (pg. 10 - Dress Code).
Students will be paired with roommates of the same gender in the CAU Residence Hall. Each assigned space will come with a bed, desk, dresser, and closet/wardrobe. A packing list of what items to bring to CAU is detailed in the Move-In Guide (pg. 6 - Packing List), including clothing, bathroom supplies, and proof of citizenship.
