2018 AIR RACE CLASSIC

2018 AIR RACE CLASSIC

Support CAU's Team!

Elza Nikita and Taylor Thompson

California Aeronautical University has been presented with a fantastic and exciting opportunity to participate in the Air Race Classic on June 19-22, 2018. The Air Race Classic allows collegiate teams to participate in the annual female race to fly the perfect cross country. The University has asked Taylor and Elza to lead in the establishment of this team of university students to have California Aeronautical University represented in the race. The Air Race Classic was started by Amelia Earhart in 1929 and is the longest cross-country race for women in the world, 2400 nautical miles. There are approximately 60 teams that compete and of those approximately 20 will be from other Colleges and Universities around the country.  This race will give students participating on the team the opportunity to use all of their education and skills.

For the university to participate in this race it will require a fundraising effort to cover the cost of fuel, lodging and other race requiring money. Any donation to this race team is greatly appreciated, the link to the University's go fund me is below and all monies donated will be used directly to support the team, before, during and after the race.  The university is providing the aircraft and other operational support for the team but unfortunately the cost to participate in this race will require other financial assistance to support the racers.  The team has determined a goal of $10,000 to adequate compete in the race and seeks your support in any amount you might be willing to contribute.

You can find more information about the race history and detail at www.airraceclassic.org
