Aaron Hepps

767-400 First Officer at Delta Air Lines

Aaron Hepps is a proud alumna of California Aeronautical University and a commercial airline pilot for Delta Air Lines. Aaron was hired by Envoy Airlines right before graduation with his bachelor's degree. He was also volunteering at SPCA animal shelter and was elected president of the board. Aaron then enrolled and completed his CAU master's degree program, became the CAU Alumni President, and started teaching distance education online through CAU. After that, Aaron applied to Delta and was hired as soon as he met the minimum requirements.

Guidance from Aaron

First, volunteer work is big in aviation, especially if you want to go to one of the legacy carriers. It should be substantial; every week or two weeks with the same organization to show effort and impact. Second, be aware that education doesn’t stop. If you want to move quickly, you need to bridge the gap of experience with education.

Future Hopes

I’m currently working in my ideal position. The next step up would be to become a Check Airman at Delta Air Lines.
