Horizon Air Visits CAU

Horizon Air Visits CAU

Date: Thurs, September 7th

Pilot and maintenance recruiters from Horizon Air will be visiting the CAU Bakersfield campus to give a presentation to our students. The pilot recruitment team will give a presentation to current CAU students about their Pilot Development Program and Horizon maintenance recruiters will be discussing career opportunities with CAU’s aviation maintenance technology students. This event is open to CAU students only.

Kern County College Night

Date: Mon, September 11th

CAU’s outreach team will join one of the largest annual high school college fairs in the County – Kern County College Night. Local high school students from Bakersfield and surrounding communities will have the opportunity to discover what CAU has to offer, including learning about aviation programs, the $10,000 tuition reduction program, the University’s airline partnerships, and more.

SkyWest Visits CAU

Date: Wed, September 13th

SkyWest Pilot Recruiting will be visiting the CAU Bakersfield campus on Wednesday, September 13th. The recruitment team will deliver a pilot workshop on the topic of professional progression. Lunch will be provided, and students can network and have more Q&A time with SkyWest pilots. This event is open to CAU students only.

Join us at California Aeronautical University’s Open House! This is a great opportunity to see CAU’s immersive aviation campus up-close, including touring the campus, exploring the CAU fleet and student housing, and asking CAU’s admissions team all of your questions about program costs, enrollment dates, and more.

WWII Memorial Dedication

Date: Mon, September 18th

California Aeronautical University (CAU) and Olive Drab Drivers (ODD) of Bakersfield will host a WWII memorial plaque dedication to honor the 547th Night Fighter Squadron (NFS), who received training using the Northrup P61 Black Widow at Meadows Field Airport (previously Kern County Airport).  The 547th “Black Widows” Squadron provided air suppression support during the rescue of 511 American and Allied prisoners at Cabanatuan, Philippines during WWII.

CAU and ODD will dedicate a plaque in honor of the U.S. Army Air Forces and U.S. Air Force and their families for their duty, honor, and sacrifice.

Mojave Air and Space Port Visits CAU

Date: Wed, September 20th

Tim Reid from Mojave Air and Space Port will be visiting CAU Bakersfield to give a presentation for CAU’s aircraft maintenance students about job opportunities in general aviation. The Mojave Air and Space Port serves as a general-use public airport, as well as a site for flight testing, space industry development, and aircraft maintenance and storage.

MCAS Miramar Air Show

Date: Fri, September 22 – Sun, September 24th

Join us at the Miramar Air Show this month! As one of the largest military air shows in the country, Miramar features three days of military demonstration teams, aerial performances from Vicky Benzing and other civilian pilots, immersive experiences, and more. Admissions is free. The CAU outreach team will be bringing the University’s new interactive trailer to the Air Show to provide information to aspiring aviators.
