ADDITIONAL PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Students will explore specific legal and ethical considerations revolving around business today.
You will examine criminal, contract, and international business laws. Using actual case studies, students will conduct research and form arguments toward developing their own responses to the legal and ethical issues affecting many industries today.
During these courses, you will be examining organizational behavior as it applies to both established companies and start-up businesses.
Theories of effective business principles and structures will be applied in the context of workplace culture. You will learn about franchising, partnerships, intellectual property rights, and understand the importance of both individuals and groups as roles within the organizational structure. Additionally, you will learn introductory business communication, management, and human resources. For your Capstone project, you will demonstrate your abilities by applying the knowledge you have gained through researching, analyzing, and presenting viable solutions for issues that are central to successful business operations.
During this part of your program, you will learn how to apply knowledge toward managing finances within the aviation industry.
The basics of accounting principles will include study of transaction analysis, posting, journalizing, preparing trial balances and financial statements, monitoring inventory, and closing the accounting cycle. Real-world application of payroll procedures, managing and assessing a company’s financial statements, and keeping accurate financial records will be practiced through using accounting and financial software. You will be also equipped with knowledge of employee earning records, registers, deductions, and laws surrounding Social Security and Disability – gaining experience through completing both manual and computerized payroll procedures.
CAREER OUTLOOK
Those who successfully graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration will be prepared for entry-level supervisory or managerial positions. These graduates of the program will be well equipped to gain entry-level positions in the field while also possessing the academic training and soft skills necessary to advance to supervisory or managerial positions.
