California Aeronautical University (CAU) announced their growing aviation university has officially opened the doors of its newest Campus located in the greater Phoenix area at Falcon Field Airport in Mesa, Arizona. CAU has been working diligently to expand its offerings into new markets to prepare the next generation of aviation professionals with its specialized aviation programs.

CAU Expands to Arizona, at Falcon Field Airport (KFFZ)
CAU’s approvals to operate provides educational pursuits in a number of fast-paced, structured year-round aviation-related degree programs that prepare students for a wide range of potential career opportunities in the aviation industry. CAU’s curriculums includes programs with professional flight training and aviation business courses that prepare students for exciting careers.
“Most students don’t even consider careers as pilots, because they think it’s out of reach,” says California Aeronautical University President Matthew Johnston. “We hope to show students that becoming an aviation professional is not only possible, but is a realistic long-term career option. At CAU, we serve students from all over the globe between our Bakersfield Camus, California flight centers, and now with the most recent opening of our Campus in greater Phoenix at Falcon Field.”
Falcon Field Airport has been “committed to providing the public a valuable air transportation resource and enhancing the aeronautical industry in the community.” Falcon Field consistently ranks among the top five most active general aviation airports in the U.S., with more than 300,000 operations annually.
CAU Programs Offered in Arizona
Through CAU’s Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics and the Associate of Science in Aviation Studies program, students earn numerous certificates and ratings along with their degree, and all courses, including flight labs, are taught by CAU instructors. This allows for more consistency and convenience for CAU students.
The programs that will be offered at the Phoenix Campus are:
- Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics
- Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
- Associate of Science in Aviation Studies
Students can also pursue a Master of Science in Aviation and Master of Business Administration online through CAU’s distance education.
CAU’s expansion efforts derive from the need for gainfully employed aviation professionals. Through its graduate services efforts that begin from the moment of acceptance, the University’s students receive professional development that assists them in putting their best foot forward as they enter the aviation career market. These efforts are assisted with frequent visits from its many partners in aviation that include armed forces, regional airlines, and many other industry employers.
