CAU Celebrates Graduating Class of 2023

World-record high-altitude jumper Alan Eustace to be 2023 commencement speaker

University celebrates largest ever graduating class

California Aeronautical University will celebrate its graduating class of 2023 on Saturday, June 10 at 9 am. The graduation ceremony will take place at the University located on Meadows Field Airport.

CAU will honor its largest ever graduating class this year. The majority of the class will receive their degree in the University’s flagship Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics program, which prepares students for their pilot careers. Other degrees and diplomas that will be awarded in the ceremony include Associate of Science in Aviation Studies, Aviation Maintenance Technology, Bachelor of Science in Aviation Business Administration, and Master of Aviation Science.

Alan Eustace, well-known computer scientist, former Google Senior Vice President of Knowledge, and current world-record holder for the highest altitude jump, will address the graduating class as the 2023 commencement speaker.

On October 21, 2014, Alan Eustace made history as he rose to a height over 135,000 feet via a weather balloon and leapt to Earth from the edge of the stratosphere wearing a custom-built, 400-pound spacesuit. He traveled over 25 miles in 15 minutes at speeds over 821 MPH. He broke the sound barrier and the previous world record for high-altitude jumps. An active member of the aerospace industry, Eustace inspires others to achieve the seemingly impossible.

In the midst of a global pilot and aircraft mechanic shortage, CAU is working to prepare the next generation of aviation professionals.

Through the University’s strong partnerships with airlines, influential aviation organizations, and leaders in the aviation community, CAU graduates become a part of a larger aviation network and reap the benefits of these relationships, including direct access to several airline cadet programs.

CAU graduates have more access than ever to career opportunities. Through the University’s newest partnership with Delta Air Lines, eligible graduates have a direct and accelerated pathway to the Delta Air Lines flight deck – faster and more seamlessly than ever before. Plus, as an elite partner with SkyWest Airlines, graduates may also be eligible to receive up to $15,000 in tuition reimbursement and have access to a guaranteed pilot interview with Delta, United, Alaska or Southwest Airlines in as little as 24 months after becoming a captain.

Many members of the graduating class have already lined up opportunities with airlines and other aviation organizations.

“Congratulations to the Class of 2023! Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have led you to this outstanding milestone in your lives and it has been our great honor to see you all grow personally and professionally during your time at CAU,” said Matthew Johnston, President of California Aeronautical University, “We wish you all the best of luck on your next endeavor!”
